The most popular spot to take photos in Hong Kong?
The night life of Hong Kong and Kowloon from Victoria Peak
This photo seems to have a little problem with color profile. If your browser is color-managed and your monitor is calibrated, but doesn't have wide enough gamut, you might experience color shift toward vivid magenta. The actual color is more bluish.
A very breath taking photo of a very unique city in the world!
What works: The nice play of the colours against the night sky of the busy city is always a "crowd" pleaser with how you shot it with a triangle of the city lights. If this was intentional it worked very well,if not, even better. The soft glow of the city lights against the darkness of the night is ,also,a nice contrast to the scene. It is a nice offset to the very crisp lights in the front of the photograph. Making a lovely layer of crisp, soft glows, distant lights and the purplish haze of the night sky.
What didn't work: Keeping in mind that is was shot from the hill above the city, the one thing that I would have done differently is to pull back a touch more to give a hint more of the city against the trees. The photograph has these wonderful, hazy, shadowy trees in the corner and none in the middle that feels just a bit unfinished.
Other than that the shot is amazing!
4 1/2 stars for vision due to the reasons mentioned above. 4 1/2 stars for originality and that is only because it is a more common, but, no less uniqiue view. 4 1/2 stars for techique for the same reasons listed above. 5 stars for the impact of the photo overall as it is truly an eye catching piece.
this looks awesome! you said this is Kowloon, has kowloon changed in the last few decades? Because the last time i heard about it it's when it was called Kowloon the walled city.
Kowloon Wall was demolished quite several years ago. All that remains is Kowloon Wall Park
Yes, Hong Kong has changed a lot. Chinese people are pouring into Hong Kong. Most shops now carry expensive items, to serve wealthy Chinese people. Hotel room rates skyrocketed. You get the idea
Thank you so much for your support on my work. I hope you like my new pictures too
